Police Apps and Web applications have become a popular platform for Indian Police organisations to disseminate information and connect with the citizens. These applications are an integral part of good governance, by facilitating easy access of citizens to service delivery mechanism of the department. KERALA POLICE is introducing a citizen centric Mobile App having 27 state of the art services. The citizen centric Mobile App of Kerala Police, developed by TCS is ready and has 27 state of the art services.
The new app launched by Kerala Police will now be available on iOS platforms as well. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan released the app. The app has already been downloaded by over 1,00,000 people. The app is designed to be easy for the general public to use. This app can find out the location of the person using it and indicate the nearest police station. Phone numbers and e-mail addresses of all ranks of Kerala Police officers are available on the app. There is also a facility to download the first information report. Fees for various services received by the police can also be used to pay to the treasury. To know the current status of passport verification and Senior citizens can also register for the Janamaithri services required through the app.
App has set up a special system for the safety of women and children. The location of the app user can send to the three mobile numbers registered earlier. In case of emergency you can make SOS calls to these numbers. Women can also schedule appointments with the Station House Officer through the app. There is a special system to send a message requesting service to the Police Emergency Response Support system.
The app can also be used to notify the concerned station in case the house is locked. The information about the police that people need to know will be available through the app. All social media pages of the police are available. A traffic guru who teaches traffic rules, a useful tourist guide for travel, Suggestions to prevent cyber fraud, and links to important government websites are also available.
The public has the facility to send description and photo of certain categories of crime directly to the police through the app. Information on abandoned women, children and senior citizens can be geo-tagged and given to the police. State police chief Loknath Behra said the App has also set up a facility to describe the experiences of those who visit the station.
The official Kerala Police App is a digital initiative to give the common public easy access to all our services. More intuitive services will be soon added to this in short time.Our aim is to facilitate easier access to citizens to the services provided by the department.
